I've tried 3 different water fountains for my cats, and this one takes the cake. Previous fountains got slimy pretty quick — this one doesn't, which is a huge plus. I have 8 cats and at least 5 are picky about their water. Filters and cleaning tools are included, putting it together was quick and easy. Highly recommend!

This is the best cat water fountain!! I've owned several through the years. Stainless steel is so much better than plastic!! My vet suggested the fountain approximately 10 years ago. It helps maintain good kidney function as your cat ages. I give this fountain 5 stars and highly recommend.

I should have purchased this a long time ago for my big boy! My 20 pounder goes through a lot of water in a day and now he is drinking more and loves it. This gives me a lot of confidence about his health and the quality of the water.

The film you can't see on her bowl
Within a day or two of sitting out, a thin layer starts forming on the inside of most water bowls. You've probably felt it — that faint slippery texture when you rinse it out.
That's biofilm: a colony of bacteria that anchors itself to surfaces and builds its own protective layer. On plastic it has somewhere to hold on, because plastic scratches, and every scratch is shelter.
Rinsing doesn't remove it. It has to be scrubbed off — and most of us aren't scrubbing a water bowl every single day.
So we built PekoPets™ out of the one material biofilm struggles to hold on to — and added UV to handle what's left.
Three things working together
Clean water isn't one feature. It's the material it sits in, what circulates through it, and what passes through the filter.
316 surgical-grade steel
Most fountains that call themselves stainless use 304. It's a fine material — it's what a lot of kitchen equipment is made from. We went with 316 instead.
The difference is molybdenum, an alloying element that improves resistance to pitting and chloride corrosion. It's the grade used for surgical instruments and pharmaceutical processing, and it stays smooth far longer under daily wet use.
Sterilization that runs on its own
A UV-C module sits behind a sealed window in the basin wall. As water circulates past it, ultraviolet light disrupts the DNA of bacteria and other microorganisms so they can't reproduce.
It cycles automatically — nothing to switch on, nothing to remember. The light stays fully enclosed behind the housing, so there's no exposure to your cat or to you.
Three stages, not one
Water passes through cotton mesh first, which catches fur and sediment. Then activated carbon, which pulls out chlorine and the taste and smell that come with it. Then ion-exchange resin, which softens hard tap water and reduces heavy metals.
Most fountains stop at the carbon layer. The third stage is what makes the difference in areas with hard water.

Why hydration comes up in every conversation about it
Cats descend from desert animals. They evolved with a low thirst drive because they got most of their water from what they ate — prey is roughly 70% water. A cat eating dry food doesn't get that, and her instincts don't fully compensate.

Most cats transition within 3–7 days, and many take to it immediately — especially cats that already show interest in running water (dripping taps, jumping on the sink). The key is placement: put the fountain near where their bowl used to be, and leave the bowl out for the first few days so they can choose. Don't force it. Curiosity does the work. Cats are wired to prefer moving water instinctively — still water in a bowl is actually unnatural for them. Once they taste the difference, most never go back.

I saw an informative ad on instagram that claimed cats who circle their water bowls and/or paw at the water are exhibiting signs of stress around their drinking source. In the wild, cats’ whiskers let them know if a source is relatively safe or dangerous—crowded areas may hold standing water which may be contaminated by decaying animals, and open spaces with running water such as a creek are more safe.
My cat is obsessed with this thing. When we had a ceramic water bowl prior to this, I’d usually observe her drinking once a day. Now, I see her drinking 2-3 times per evening. Her fur has become super soft, and the litter box needs changing more frequently. She loves staring at the water in idle moments. If you’re on the fence, please purchase and at least try it out for your cat!
This product is very good especially for its price. I don’t need anything fancy, I just need stainless steel and for it to stay clean. The pump and fountain stay super clean and I only have to clean it out every 1-2 weeks. It’s also very silent, + my cat loves it. Get it if you can!
I just got this fountain and set it up last night for my 2 cats, and they were drinking from it right away! It’s very big, and I really love how easy it is to open the tray where the filter goes—way easier than my other fountain that’s a struggle to deal with. This is a great water fountain! It was easy to assemble and it’s really quiet! I love that it’s stainless and has the window in the front to see the water level. Now our cats have their own “sink with running water” and I don’t have to turn mine on and off all of the time! We purchased this fountain because it’s stainless steel. We have 7 cats and put out 4 water bowls, then clean and refill daily. Often the cats will touch the water with their paw to create ripples before they drink. We have one cat loves to drink out of the faucet so we thought his would be purrfect. It is very quiet and all of the cats are curious, some drink from the bowl, as there is always ripples and others from the spout. I read the article on Water Fountains & days later @ Vet appt a conversation with Vet. Upon checking cats mouth found spots on gum line. Blood test results were good. I bought my water foundation from your company. Upon it coming here I put it into service watching how long it took for them to start using. By 2:00 next day they (2cats) were drinking the water & have been ever since. After 5 days I checked water level & topped it off. Cats seem to eat more food always wanting more later in the evening.
